Investing Academy. Knowledge Supports Success. Visit now.

In this edition of Navigators, you'll get a sneak peek of soon-to-be-released updates to help improve your trading experience, new Trading Dashboard initiatives and some of our best tips to help ensure you're getting the most out of your trading platform.

Let's dive in.

COMING SOON

Order entry getting a refresh

You'll soon see a modern, clean look when you enter your orders for stocks and exchange-traded funds online. The refresh will give you more data at your fingertips (including real-time quotes1) to help you trade with confidence – without having to switch back and forth between your order-entry, holdings and detailed quote pages. You'll also find new pre-populated fields and predictive search results when you enter symbols into the search function, making the order-entry process more efficient. The online updates, which are much in line with what you currently see in the RBC Direct Investing mobile experience, are expected to launch later this spring. Keep an eye out!

Homepage insights just for you

To help make your buy and sell decisions with more speed and certainty when trading on desktop, we're introducing indicators and trends relevant to you – based on the securities you hold. On your holdings page, you'll soon find helpful insights such as:

  • industry trends
  • upcoming events
  • interesting volume levels
  • ratings changes

Up-to-date data and simpler navigation means you can make more informed, timely trades. Watch for the new features in late spring.

WHAT'S NEW

Dashboard updates ongoing

We're continually working to improve our Trading Dashboard based on your helpful feedback. Most recently, we've:

  • Fixed the workspace reset issue. (Now when you log in, you'll find your workspaces the way you left them. No more recreating your personalized views each time.)
  • Renamed the order book widget to Level 2.2 (The widget is the same; only the name has changed to better reflect what you'll find there.)
  • Expanded the number of strike prices you can see in an option chain to 25 from 15 (look for the “strikes" dropdown when you open an option chain)

SMART SEARCH TIP

To find articles:

Looking for articles or investing know-how? Use the “search for symbol or keyword" search bar (found on every page online) to enter a keyword. You'll see a few articles at the bottom of the dropdown as you type, and when you click through, you can use filters to highlight articles only.
