Trade with Points
Do you earn RBC Rewards® points? RBC Direct Investing® makes it easy for you to use your points for trading.
- Use points earned on your personal RBC Rewards credit cards to pay for commissions on your online and mobile stock, ETF and options trades
- Available for RBC Direct Investing RRSP, TFSA, RESP and non-registered accounts
- To give you an idea of the conversion rate, you will need approximately 1,200 RBC Rewards points to place an equity trade that costs $9.95 Canadian1
To pay for a trade using points, simply go to the Order Entry page and tick the Pay trade commission using RBC Rewards® Points box. Continue to the next page, where you’ll see the estimated commission in dollars, along with an estimated equivalent number of points for the commission.
Make a contribution
RBC Rewards points earned on your personal RBC credit cards can easily be converted to cash for deposits or contributions into your RBC Direct Investing accounts. A few things to keep in mind:
- Qualifying accounts for contributions/deposits include: RRSPs, tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs), registered education savings plans (RESPs) and non-registered cash accounts
